inband direct KVM

I have been having a look around the forums and docs  but I have been unable to find an answer hopefully someone here may know??

Is there a way to connect directly to an inband KVM ip, the OOB KVM works fine as there is a webservice running but I need to restrict access to the OOB network from the users network.

Hopefully someone else may have already had the pain and can help me out.

Simon, I don’t believe “In-Band” KVM-IP’s are assessable to the UCSM KVM Manager, or the UCS Central KVM Manager, nor do they support Direct-Connect.

I don’t know of a way around this off the top of my head, but I’ll consult and update if there’s a change.

It is not supported as per the config guide and the bug mentioned below:

As when we use direct access using Outband IP the request hits the Mgmt. port on the FI.

It is then processed by the Kernel stack on the FI which is running the http service.

However when we try to directly access Inband IP, it goes via the data-plane on the FI which is transparent to the Mgmt. plane.

It directly hits the CIMC of the Server which does not run the http service.
