I am wondering if anyone can explain this behaviour to me...we are using B200-M3 + VIC1240 + 2208XP. Running ESXi 5.5 U1, each vnic is showing up as a 20GbE link until we apply a QoS policy. Then it is reduced to 10GbE. There is no rate-limiting set (line-rate), only host control is changed to full. Can anyone explain why this is?

My answer, which may not be accurate, comes from a tweet I saw a week or two ago. Perhaps it can explain this, perhaps not!
"Bandwidth and Speed are separate concepts 2 x 10Gbs Links in a port channel do NOT equate to a Single logical 20Gbs link!"
(Twitter / UCSguru: Bandwidth and Speed are separate ...)
I don't know really

Hi Richard,
I actually have found the answer, it is a bug in UCS 2.2(1b) and 2.2(1c) firmware. When a QoS policy is applied to a vNIC the bandwidth is limited to 10GbE regardless of what value "line-rate" or a value >10GbE being inputted into UCSM. Problem is fixed in 2.2(1d) or later.
