Error Monitoring

Hi,

Want to know if anyone has automated error monitoring. The idea is to look for few key words in actionlog and error logs and upon finding them, need to send an email to the admin. Or on a sample basis I want to configure SNMP trap of a specific CVP application. Did anyone implement this sort of mechanism earlier. If so, can anyone share what could be the best way to implement.

I have a batch job that first copies the activity log to a different location and a vb script  on the activity log and emails the search results to the necessary folks.
