Cisco CMX Infrastructure with Active RFID Tags

Is it possible to use the CMX infrastructure (Location updates via notifications) with active RFID tags? I've been searching about this and looking for companies that sell these tags. Does the tag need to be compatible with Wi-Fi? Like the AeroScout tag.

CMX Detect & Locate service uses the data provided by Cisco WLCs to calculate location of wireless devices that are detected by the access points that support the wireless LAN.  The Cisco CMX GUI will display the physical location of Active WiFi RFID Tags, and you can setup notifications for tag location updates and stream notification for RSSI tag.
