The sandbox ( https://cmxlocationsandbox.cisco.com ) with credentials learning/learning doesn't appear to hold data for any values other than WIRELESS_CLIENTS, whether for the notifications API or any of the polling APIs (known as Real Time Location API or Location History API).
The MSE 8 and 10 sandboxes are full implementations of the CMX Mobility Services, however the rest of the network is simulated. The simulator is called TSIM - Wireless AP and Client Simulator. Currently, both CMX 8 & 10 are using the same simulator image, 80 wireless clients split between two campuses. The API should return valid values for queries and notifications for other devices/events, but the values will be zero/none for anything other than wireless clients.
TSIM Introduction
TalwarSim is a powerful tool which is used to test the scalability and performance of Wireless LAN controllers. TalwarSim can be used to simulate deployments consisting of a number of access points and clients.
TalwarSim is mainly used in an environment where a large number of mobile nodes (MNs) and access points (APs) are required to measure the performance of the controller. TalwarSim can also be used to send the simulated clients’ 802.11 Management, 802.1X, RM, and data traffic to the controller and vice versa.
Supported Features
The following are the features supported in TalwarSim:
- AP Simulation (Local, Monitor, Hreap, OEAP)
